Children’s Lovefeast August 20th

Join us for worship on Sunday. August 20th as we celebrate a special Lovefeast service at 11 AM. Following the August 13th spiritual renewal of 1727, the children of the Moravian settlement of Herrnhut had a similar awakening. The late Bishop Kenneth G. Hamilton wrote in his book, History of the Moravian Church the following:

The whole experience can be attributed…to the keen interest taken in the spiritual development of their children by the leaders of Herrnhut, Zinzendorf in chief. These men and women did not regard inner life of the young with that condescension too often shown by adults. They held that in the things of the spirit, the Lord could use a little child to lead elder persons.

Picnic and Ice Cream Social

churchpicnicOn Sunday, August 27th all are invited to join us for our end of the summer picnic and ice cream social. The fun and festivities begin at 4 PM. Hamburgers and hot dogs and toppings will be provided by the CE Committee. Members and friends are invited to bring sides, desserts and of course ice cream! A BINGO party will follow the meal.

Biking Fellowship Announces Schedule

Join us for biking!

Members and friends of the congregation are invited to join us for a time of exercise and fellowship as we bike together. The Biking Group will meet at 9 AM on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month as weather permits. The group will also meet the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month at 9 AM. Participants are asked to meet at the Greenway behind Marketplace Mall on Peters Creek Parkway.  The first gathering will be Saturday, August 19th. Loose Change Offering Sunday, July 30th

Every 5th Sunday has been designated by the Leadership Board of Christ Moravian Church as a “loose change” offering for a special cause in our community and world. In 2017  two recipients will receive our loose change: Ray of Hope Ministry in Kenya, Africa and the Winston Salem Street School.

Help is needed! A work day has been called for Thursday morning at 8:30 AM at church. Tuesday afternoon’s storm has left a lot of debris on our church campus. Please bring rakes, leaf blowers and yourselves on Thursday. With enough people we should be able to accomplish all we need to do in a couple of hours. Below are some photos of the storm damage.
