The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory from 4 AM to 10 AM Sunday morning, February 4th. Freezing rain is expected, with a possible accumulation of ice resulting in slippery conditions tomorrow morning. For this reason, Christ Moravian Church will not hold Opening Exercise or Sunday School. We are making plans to hold worship at 11 AM. Should conditions worsen we will inform the congregation through the various media outlets as communicated in an earlier post about our Winter Weather Policy about any further changes.
Our hope is to have information publicized in the early evening hours tonight concerning any change with our worship schedule for Sunday. With the threat of inclement weather this Sunday, we encourage church members to check WXII, WFMY & WGHP (Fox 8) television stations along with our Church website and Facebook page to discover information about our schedule changes for church events, meetings, and services due to weather conditions.

Available in PDF format for download is a statement from the worldwide Moravian Church (the Unity) from the President of the Unity Board, the Rev. Dr. Cortroy Jarvis, and the Unity Board Administrator, the Rev. D. Jørgen Bøytler. This statement expresses concern, as a matter of Christian principle, about recent statements by President Trump, and especially in light of our Moravian presence in many of the places to which the President’s comments referred. For example, Haiti has been for some years a Unity Mission Area of our church, under the care of the Jamaican and the Eastern West Indies Provinces; about 75% of the Moravians in the world live in Africa; and, 20% in the Caribbean and Central America. We encourage you to read, reflect upon, pray about, and to share this statement as you feel led. The statement can be found below:
Join us on Saturday, January 20th from 8 AM – 10 AM in the Fellowship Building for a breakfast fundraiser sponsored by the Petersbrook RCC (Ardmore, Calvary, Christ & Fries Memorial Moravian congregations). We will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion at our 11 AM worship service on Sunday, January 7th for the occasion of Epiphany. Epiphany is celebrated on January 6th as the revelation of the Baby Jesus to the Magi and as the first manifestation of Christ to the Gentiles. The Moravian Church practices an “open communion” meaning we welcome all Christians to join us in celebrating the Sacrament.
