Please make plans to join us for worship on Sunday, December 15th Our Children’s Program that was originally scheduled for worship on December 8th will be taking place. Our youth (pictured to the left at a recent dress rehearsal) have been working very hard on this program which is called, “And He Comes!” This was written by Cyndy and Kiley Smith and will be performed by our Youth Sunday school classes.
Church members are reminded to “help share the light of Christ” during this Advent season. On Sunday, December 15th these gifts will be in the Hallway of Christ Moravian Church to pick up. Members are encouraged to take this special invitation as a way of inviting a neighbor, co-worker or family member to join us for our Christmas Lovefeast and Candle Services at Christ Church. Many thanks to church member Ed Swaim for making these wooden star bases.
For over 20 years, members of Christ Moravian Church have prepared a Lovefeast Service for the residents of Heritage Woods. Many thanks to members of our choir led by Jeanie Rothrock, our organist Stephen Holland, our dieners and coffee makers who ventured out last night for this service. Church Interiors has completed their work in our Fellowship Building. Our Stainless Steel countertop has been installed and we are ready for our Anniversary Weekend Celebration that begins with our Fall Festival and Yard Sale Saturday followed by our special lunch on Sunday following worship. A great crowd ventured out on Wednesday at 8 am to the Stratford Station Grill. Following breakfast a group came to transport items from the garage in the church office to the Fellowship Building basement in preparation for the Women’s Fellowship upcoming Yard Sale. Thank you for your contribution of time today!
An exciting new ministry has come to Christ Church. Worship + 2 is a ministry that EVERYONE can become involved in! This ministry encourages our church members to be faithful in their worship attendance and to do two of the following things as well:
A wonderful crowd ventured out on a beautiful Sunday afternoon to attend the dedication of our Church Labyrinth. Most people stayed to enjoy a wonderful picnic and ice cream social followed by a talent show from church members. We hope you enjoy the photo slideshow below.
The FUN began on Sunday! Our VBS experience hosted by Christ Moravian Church got underway last night. We continue through Wednesday and hope you will make plans to attend! There are opportunities for learning and mission for all ages. We hope you enjoy some of the photos of our church members that will be featured throughout the week below.
Mission Camp at Christ Church has come to a conclusion today. The youth of Christ Church have given to our congregation and the West Salem community a labyrinth that they built this week on our church campus. We plan to have a special dedication service in August. Many thanks to the youth and our adult volunteers who helped make this project possible. Not only do we appreciate this gift but the gift of those who gave of their time and talents this past week!
Mission Camp at Christ Church got underway Sunday night with a Pot Luck dinner with camp participants, parents, and leadership board members. Many thanks to those members of our church who have allowed the group to borrow items in helping them prepare this wonderful gift for our church and community. Many thanks to our youth who led worship on Sunday, April 28th. We were all truly blessed by your music, sermon presentation and leadership in worship. In addition many thanks to our adult volunteers (Cyndy & Kiley Smith, Matt Pace and Sabrina Maksi) who helped to plan worship on Sunday as well and for our guest pianist, Martha Walker.

A great day was had by all who attended our Spring Fling on April 21st. Many thanks to all the youth and adult volunteers and those who came out to offer their support. Over $1,000 was raised for our youth. Congratulations!

The Easter Sunrise Service (241st) begins at 6:30 AM in Old Salem. This year’s service will be officiated by The Rev. John Jackman, minister of Trinity Moravian Church. A radio broadcast of the service will also be carried by WSJS radio beginning at 6:30 AM.
The Winston-Salem/Forsyth County CROP Walk produced the fifth largest amount among the 1400 CROP Walks in the nation in 2012. Congratulations to the followin Moravian congregations who received certificates of award at the 2012 CROP Hunger Walk Recognition Awards Reception on Tuesday evening:Christ Moravian 552% (#1!)

For over 20 years, Christ Church has led a Lovefeast service at Heritage Woods. This service took place earlier this week on Thursday, December 6th. Enjoy some of the photos from the service. Many thanks to our musicans, dieners, coffee makers and Pastor for helping lead this service.
Thanks to the generous contribution of a church member who wishes to remain anonymous, we have upgraded our sound system! We are no longer recording worship services on cassettes but on a digital media recorder. Following an editing process, these worship services are now available to church members on a compact disc (CD). We plan to deliver these CD’s to our members who are no longer able to attend worship and make available copies to any members by request. Simply contact the Church Office and a copy will be provided to you. Our first recording that will be available will be on Sunday, December 9th.
A great crowd gathered together Sunday afternoon for our annual Church Picnic and Ice Cream Social on the lawn. We enjoyed wonderful music from our Grateful Choir and a wonderful catered meal from Mountain Fried Chicken along with Homemade Ice Cream and dessert made by our members. Many thanks to our Youth Fellowship for helping to set up and for our members of our Christian Education Committee for planning this event along with cleaning up. Members of Christ Moravian will soon be concluding their week of service at Mission Camp at Laurel Ridge. Many thanks for keeping the following people in your thoughts and prayers this week as they have participated in Mission Camp.
We especially thank Matt and Jennifer Pace for their leadership and supervision. Pastor Marcus and his son, David III traveled up to Ennice, NC on Thursday and witnessed the group hard at work painting the outside of someone’s house. Enjoy the slideshow!
