Join us on Sunday, November 13th as we celebrate Christ as Chief Elder Communion. On November 13, 1741 announcement was made in all Moravian congregations that Jesus Christ had been chosen Chief Elder of the Moravian Church. The Moravian Church has had no single human chief executive since then, and now observes this as a festival day on the Sunday closest to November 13th by celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion. Worship begins at 11 AM on Sunday morning. We hope to see you here! In addition, we will be holding our annual Church Council during worship this Sunday as well.
According to our primary doctrinal statement, The Ground of the Unity, we are called in faith to serve humanity, with our actions shaped by scripture – but this is not always an easy task! Indeed, disagreements over how we translate scripture’s messages into individual and community actions are not new. Join us as we explore some of the challenges and prospects of biblical, faithful decision-making, then and now. This event is taking place on Saturday, November 3 from 9 AM to 3 PM at Ardmore Moravian Church. To learn more about this event or register, click on this following link:
