Holy Communion & Lovefeast Sunday

Join us for  Holy Communion Sunday

We will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Communion during worship on Sunday, March 5th at 11 AM on the first Sunday of the Lenten season. Later that afternoon at 2 PM, all are invited to join us for our Day of Prayer Lovefeast Service. We welcome as our guest speaker, The Rev. Kelly Moore. We hope you will make plans to join us for these special services Sunday.

Pine Needle Sale March 25th & April 1st

pine4The Christian Education Committee is sponsoring a Pine Needle Sale with the proceeds going to help support our Laurel Ridge Summer Camp Scholarship Fund. The price per bale is $5. Pre-orders are being taken by simply contacting the Church Office or place your order on the sign up sheet located in the Church Resource Room! The sale will take place March 25th & April 1st from 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM.

Marvelous Moravians Welcome Joe Jarvis

10842119_10200684037499508_3492552445129785220_oOn Tuesday, March 7th the Marvelous Moravians welcome Joe Jarvis, president of the Armando Rusindo Mission Foundation to speak about his ministry experiences and the work of the Moravians in Cuba. Joe  is a member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church.  He is a member of the Board of World Mission. Our time will begin with coffee and light refreshments at 10:30 AM with Joe beginning his presentation at 11 AM that morning.

The very first time Joe visited Cuba his heart was touched by the people. Their worship was something that Joe found to be spiritually uplifting and he was impressed by the people’s friendliness and their sincerity regarding their faith. Youth Lunch Sunday

pasta-barMake plans to join us following worship on Sunday, February 26th  for a Youth Lunch in the Fellowship Building. The menu will be a Pasta Bar and Salad. A love offering will be collected to help the youth and their projects and missions. Following lunch for those who are interested there will be a time to play BINGO with the chance of winning some prizes! More details to follow!

Lenten Bible Study

p-ah-creed-headerDuring the season of Lent, Pastor Marcus will be offering another Lenten Bible Study following worship. Our sessions will being on the 2nd Sunday of Lent, March 12th and continue through Palm Sunday, April 9th. We will once again seek volunteers to provide a lunch for our group participants. Pastor Marcus will provide lunch at our first session on March 12th. There also will be a Youth Lunch on March 26th. A sign up sheet is located on the Church Family Life Bulletin Board. Marvelous Moravians Event

planning-who-what-whenThe Marvelous Moravians will have a planning meeting on Tuesday, February 7 at 11 AM in the Fellowship Building. Lunch will be provided. This event is open to all who are interested in attending. The planning meeting is to review proposed activities and seek input from members of the group about things they would like to do together during the upcoming year. Your input is valued and needed so make plans to attend!

“Black and White” Dinner

special-dinnerThe youth are sponsoring a special dinner on Saturday, January 28th at 5 PM. Tickets are $12 and seating is limited to 60 people. All proceeds will benefit the Convo 2017 Fund. Menu includes: salad, choice of baked ham or roast beef, mashed potatoes, steamed broccoli, roll, dessert and beverages (tea, coffee or water). Please contact a youth leader to purchase tickets.

Loose Change Offering Sunday


Bring your change on January 29th

Every 5th Sunday has been designated by the Leadership Board of Christ Moravian Church as a “loose change” offering for a special cause at in our community or world. In 2017 we have chosen two recipients to receive our loose change: Ray of Hope Ministry in Kenya, Africa and the Winston Salem Street School. Please consider bringing your loose change to place into the container jar that will be in the front of the church this Sunday.
